The Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and troubleshooting complex network infrastructures that support our Pneumatic Tube System (PTS) product. The role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the optimal performance, security, and scalability of network systems supporting tube systems at customer locations. As a Network Engineer, you will also be tasked with monitoring network performance, identifying issues, and recommending solutions to improve reliability and efficiency. You will be expected to stay up to date with the latest networking technologies and best practices to ensure the infrastructure requirements for the PTS remains secure and innovative.
Key responsibilities include evaluating requirements, configuring and maintaining routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs, performing network troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with security protocols. Responsibilities also include knowledge and support for installation and commissioning of IT hardware, software, and most importantly, to provide 3rd level assistance for technical support.

Customer Focus
- Provide proactive support to end users and other IT colleagues.
- Work with IT organizations and internal engineering organizations to help develop secure solutions and enhance existing solutions, that deliver viable/proven business value.
- Support external IT network and security related questionnaires.
- Respond to customer and vendor network and security audits.
- Participate with PTS sales and project management on installation and commissioning of PTS systems.
- Respond to customer IT issues related to server-side hardware, VMs, and network infrastructure requirements.
- Approve customer environments for deployments.
- Research, analysis, solving and correcting customer issues under significant time pressure.
- Responsible for product (PTS) network & security roadmap. Plan and design network systems requirements for future enhancements of the PTS product in LAN and Cloud spaces.
- Provide and validate network infrastructure requirements for PTS product installation including switches, firewalls, and other network devices.
- Maintain and improve upon the PTS network deployment platform. This includes monitoring performance of the PTS product on existing network configurations and infrastructure.
- Act as the technical expert for all PTS network related functions and features.
- Evaluate and recommend network integration solutions for firmware and software based on industry best practices.
- Monitor and enforce network compliance on all product solutions.
- Analyze and perform root cause analysis for network induced issues.
- Provide Tier 3 on-demand corrective, 24/7 emergency services to customers as required.
- Work with senior engineers in technical and business direction.
- Understanding and providing feedback to senior engineers on architecture and network designs.
- Explain network issues to internal customers and users in a way that is understandable by non-IT professionals.
- Share knowledge proactively by making documentation available to colleagues and follow standard procedures.
- Work with product engineering to design and develop solutions to optimize network and security standards.
- Provide training where appropriate.
Your competence
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or combined equivalent in education and experience.
- Proven experience as a Network Support Engineer or in a similar role.
- Extensive experience in network engineering, design, and implementation.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, technologies, and standards, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, and VPNs.
- Understand the OSI model and model concepts.
- Understand communication protocols for encryption and authentication.
- Experience with routing and switching equipment from vendors such as Cisco, F5, etc..
- Experience with wireless gear from various vendors.
- Proficiency in network security concepts and best practices, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and access control lists.
- Hands-on experience with network monitoring and management tools.
- Experience with Azure networking and IaaS.
- Understand how to troubleshoot network issues related to latency, access lists, VLAN routing, etc.
- Can read and understand firewall, switch and routing configuration, mainly Cisco.
- Strong written and verbal communication up and down the organization.
- Able to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment with strong customer service orientation.
- CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate), CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional)
- Secondary degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
- Experience with Azure Dev Ops and Jira.
- Experience with Veracode or other code scanning tools.
- Data Analytics experience
