The Network Engineer, as part of a global IT networking team, is responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and troubleshooting complex networking services. This may include any subsidiaries, partners, or customers as required.
The role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the optimal performance, security, and scalability of network systems. As a Network Engineer, you will also be tasked with monitoring network performance, identifying issues, and recommending solutions to improve reliability and efficiency. You will be expected to stay up to date with the latest networking technologies and best practices to ensure the infrastructure requirements remain secure and innovative.
Key responsibilities include evaluating requirements, configuring and maintaining routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs, performing network troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with security protocols. Responsibilities also include knowledge and support for installation and commissioning of IT hardware, software, and most importantly, to provide 2nd level assistance for technical support.

Your collaboration
- Work as part of a global IT networking team ensuring operation, continuous improvement of networking services to and for any company location or staff, including any subsidiaries, partners, or customers as required.
- Ensure stable and performant global network services comprised of WAN, LAN, WLAN, VPN, WAFs, DNS, Firewall, Load balancing and other networking components in all global locations
- 2nd level support, troubleshooting, and problem resolution in case of service issues in accordance to pre-defined SLAs, including 24x7 on call service
- Recommend and implement changes, upgrades, and technology modernization projects to the networking services.
- Manage physical equipment and connectivity in Datacenters and other key locations.
- Manage Uninterruptible power supply (UPS) and power balancing.
- Manage Certificates
- Manage 3rd party contractors and outsourced operations
- Manage and source vendors, contracts, renewals, and licenses.
- Maintain asset lists and network diagrams of all key assets and locations
- Share knowledge within the IT department proactively through knowledge sharing and the creation of knowledge base articles
- Manage, execute, or support IT Projects when required.
- Work with other IT Departments in SLHC or KUKA as needed
- Ensure IT security and data privacy
- Support audits and certifications (HiTrust, ISO27001, etc.)
- Adhere to corporate policies and procedures and legal requirements
- Performs other duties, as assigned.
Your competence
- 3+ years’ experience as a Network Engineer or in a similar role.
- Cisco Certified Network Engineer (CCNA) certification or equivalent experience
- Strong knowledge of network, communication, and security protocols, technologies, and standards, (including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, and VPNs.)
- Experience with routing & switching and wireless equipment from vendors such as Cisco
- Datacenter experience with a co-location provider.
- Strong knowledge of internal and external DNS.
- Proficiency in network security concepts and best practices, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and access control lists.
- Hands-on experience with network monitoring and management tools.
- Experience with Azure networking and IaaS.
- Understand how to troubleshoot network issues related to latency, access lists, VLAN routing, etc.
- Read and understand firewall, switch and routing configuration, mainly Cisco.
- Understands Cloud Computing Concepts (Azure)
- Strong written and verbal communication up and down the organization.
- Able to effectively prioritize
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or combined equivalent in education and experience.
- CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional)
- Experience with Azure Dev Ops
- Meraki wireless experience
