Manager, Business Applications

The Manager, Business Applications, is responsible for the support and continuous improvement of a dynamic portfolio of business applications and services. The portfolio (defined in the LeanIX application) currently includes major applications such as Salesforce Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Engagement Configure/Price/Quote (CPQ), Windchill Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), and Informatica Extract/Transform/Load (ETL).

Additionally, the incumbent, together with their peers is responsible for asserting and prioritizing business needs, finding solutions and introducing new business applications to the Application portfolio.

To do so the incumbent
• leads a team of business analysts, system designers, administrators and developers.
• Manages vendors, 3rd party contractors, contracts, and licenses
• Manages close relations with the various SLHC business units and leaders
• Manages a budget of ~1 million $.

The objective is to continuously guarantee and improve business efficiency by operating and continuously modernizing the IT application offering while at the same time maintaining best practices, predefined SLA/KPIs and budgets.

Your collaboration

  • Ensure operations of all accounted services/applications according to SLA and KPIs
  • Plan and manage continuous improvements and changes to the application portfolio.
  • Understand business processes and how IT can be used to improve these processes
  • Partner with the business to analyze new requirements and propose & develop solutions
  • Charter IT projects and deliver IT projects according to agreed parameters
  • Drive process optimization and standardization
  • Optimize a global delivery model of internal/external resource using best-cost locations
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a team of internal staff to perform required tasks
  • Develop annual targets and priorities for direct reports, note progress of targets and conducting performance reviews
  • Simplify the IT architecture, reducing the number of applications, operating effort and cost
  • Perform vendor selections and manage vendor relationships
  • Manage IT contracts, and licenses, monitoring usage and optimizing cost
  • Plan and forecast IT Budgets and ensure deliver to these
  • Plan/approve/control IT expenditures and identify & implement cost reduction measures
  • Maintain close relations with customers, request feedback, and ensuring satisfaction
  • Ensure adequate training of key users and/or end users in the use of IT applications
  • Represent the department, at leadership meetings, or other presentations.
  • Responsible for planning and decision making with regards to department staffing, budgeting, and resourcing.
  • Ensure IT security and data privacy
  • Support audits and certifications (HiTrust, ISO27001, etc.)
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

Your competence

  • Bachelor of Science or similar job experience.
  • Leadership track record showing ability to manage an IT team of 4-10 people.
  • Demonstrated 8+ years of experience managing a CRM, PLM, or ERP environment with more than 100 users.
  • Intercultural experience managing customers or staff in at least 2 regions (Americas, EMEA, or APAC)
  • Certifications or proven track record using best practice models for IT Service Management, IT Project Management, or agile development
  • Demonstrated experience managing 500k$+ global IT projects
  • Experience in a global CRM, PLM, or ERP business process consolidation or rollout project.
  • High energy, self-starting, decision-making individual with entrepreneurial mentality / business acumen
  • Highly organized and self-directed with ability to multi-task and prioritize competing tasks
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, influence, change management and consensus building skills
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation and written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer and organizational skills
Desirable, but not Essential:
  • Master of Business Degree
Salary range for this position is $125,000 - $150,000, plus bonus. Salary will be commensurate with experience and skillset. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical / dental / vision insurance, tuition reimbursement, disability, 401k matching (up to 8%).
