Director of Operations, Logistics and Manufacturing

This role will direct the Operations Planning, Logistics, Manufacturing and Warehousing functions of the Product Center. Coordinate the above functions to ensure that planning and labor utilization are optimized to meet shipment goals. Also manage related SAP implementation features and manage budgets and expenses to ensure Product Center P&L objectives are achieved.

The Operations Department performs all necessary functions to manufacture Swisslog Healthcare’s TransLogic (TL) North America products (primarily pneumatic tube system and components) from purchased and internally fabricated parts and assemblies. The Product Center also supports spare parts for Medication Management (MM) from Swisslog Healthcare Italy and various OEM partners. Functions include master planning and scheduling, demand planning, internal logistics, fabrication, assembly, stocking, kitting, packaging, warehousing, transportation planning, shipping, returns processing and inventory management. Tools include MRP (SAP), lean manufacturing techniques, KANBAN. External customers are Swisslog Healthcare’s 2200+ hospital clients. Internal customers include Project Managers and Customer Service Managers.

Your collaboration

  • Manage the budget to ensure the Product Center P&L contribution from Operations meets or exceeds plan.
  • Oversee production planning to ensure the shipment plan is met, ensure the labor is applied per standard and SLHC targets are met or exceeded
  • Oversee tactical procurement function and compliance with applicable policies while avoiding unfavorable PPV (Purchase Price Variance to Standard)
  • Manage inventory levels to balance OTD (On-Time Delivery) while minimizing trade working capital.
  • Assuring Denver Logistics and Manufacturing is properly staffed with trained people and that key position are backed up with cross-training and all employees have adequate training and development opportunities.
  • Through the Warehouse Manager, ensure all warehouse functions, receiving, shipping, stocking, ship order pull, kitting and packaging are performed according to plan. Track and improve key metrics.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable Health, Safety, Environmental, and DOT requirements.
  • Propose, plan and execute programs to continuously reduce cost in every area of Operations.
  • Serve as SAP SME (Subject Matter Expert) on all matters related to Operations.
  • Oversee forecasting for all materials to a 24 month horizon based on inputs from all applicable parties.
  • Prepare and execute monthly S&OP (Sales and Operational Planning )reviews with senior management
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

Your competence

  • 4-year college degree in business or technical field, or appropriate combination of experience and certifications, specifically APICs or NAPM.
  • SAP or similar level of ERP system expert user
  • Excel expert knowledge
  • 10 Years of management level manufacturing operations experience.
  • 5 years planning and logistics experience.
  • 5 years production management experience.
Desirable, but not Essential:
  • Master’s degree.
Salary range for this position is $123,000 to $154,000 base, plus bonus. Salary will be commensurate with experience and skillset. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical / dental / vision insurance, tuition reimbursement, disability, 401k matching (up to 8%).
